300gsm chopped strand mat. Constructed of short fibres (40 to 70mm) held together with a binder to hold them into a mat form.

After the mat is saturated with resin, the binder dissolves allowing the strands to be coaxed into the correct shape. 

Mat is used as a rapid, cost effective build-up when doing jobs such as plywood decking and layering moulds. Fibreglass Mat can be used in conjunction with other fibreglass fabrics such as woven rovings.

Use ONLY Polyester or Vinyl Ester Resins with Chopped Strand Mat as the mat contains a binder which prevents proper boning with any Epoxy Resin. (Use Powder Bound Chopped Strand Mat for Epoxy Resins.)

The amount of resin needed to saturate (wet out) 300g CSM is approx. 750g per square meter.
