10m 4mm Red Tinned Marine Wire
A 10 metre cut of 4 mm red tinned marine wire. Single core, no outer sheath. Industry size is 4 mm. Conductor area is 1.85 mm², not 4 mm². Use it as the positive on a 12 V or 24 V circuit.
Need both colours: 10 m red and 10 m black, 20 m pack. The matching negative is 10 m black 4 mm tinned marine wire. For red and black in one jacket, use 10 m tinned marine twin cable, 4 mm.
4 mm tinned marine wire, red
This is the red single core used for a positive feed on a boat. Tinned copper, V90 PVC, cut to 10 metres.
- Positive to a manual bilge pump, through a fused switch.
- Positive feed to lights, instruments and accessories.
- Extending an existing red marine wire.
It is not twin sheath. Twin sheath is red and black inside one white jacket, sold as the 10 m twin cable. It is not 3 core. An automatic bilge pump needs 10 m 3 core bilge pump wire. Do not use this wire on 240 V, shore power or inverter output.

4 mm is not 4 mm²
On Australian auto and marine cable, 4 mm is the trade name. The copper is 1.85 mm², 26 strands of 0.30 mm. A 4 mm² building cable is a different product. Blue crimp terminals are the usual match.
Questions
Is this the same as 4 mm twin marine cable?
No. This is one red conductor. Twin cable has red and black in one sheath. That search is the 10 m tinned marine twin cable.
Do I need black as well?
Yes, for a complete circuit. Buy the black 10 m cut, or the 20 m red and black pack.
Is the copper tinned?
Yes. Tinned copper to AS/NZS 1125. The tin coat is what separates this from plain auto wire in salt air.
